"Being
single has its perks but a relationship definitely has its
perks too. Right now, I'm single and it's fun."
Will pursued
a degree in computers in case his dream of a football career
didn’t pan out. In 2002, he signed with the Baltimore
Ravens, in 2007 signed on as a free agent with the Houston
Texans and most recently earned a Pro Bowl selection,
dashing any chances of sitting behind a desk pushing
pencils. Korean and African American heritage are at the
core of his GQ-level allure which has landed him modeling
jobs as Jennifer Hudson’s love interest in her new music
video, "If This Isn't Love."

... on HIMSELF
Strengths: "I'm very self driven
and
open minded. Sometimes I can be hard-headed but it can be
good in ways. I don't think I'm set in my ways but I'm not
the one who comes over easy. I know what I want and I know
how to get it attitude. I'm very independent and very
work-oriented. You got to have those traits to be
who
you are."
Weakness: "I don't think I have any weaknesses,
kryptonite, no, I'm joking. I hate to let people down or see
people cry or be miserable. I think my weakness is for
things in this world. Like
people going to war,
those who
were in Hurricane Ike, families who lost homes. I'm weak for
that, it's just the way this world happens to these people.
That hurts me. That's my weakness is seeing people who
suffer, I think that's the biggest thing."
What's the biggest misconception
about football players:
"That it's all about ourselves. A lot of people judge
us before they get to know us.
To
get to know me,
you got to just listen to me talk or get to know me on a
personal level, instead of saying, `hey, I think he's cocky
or stuck up, if he doesn't say hello.' Maybe it's the way I
look. But I always smile so I don't think I have a cocky
attitude. The
biggest misconception
is that
I'm cocky."
Others may not see: "I like to live life. I take
everything with a grain of salt. Nothing bothers me because
life's too short to be worrying about things that you can't
control."
Interests: "I like traveling. Learn
different cultures, different languages and just seeing
things that God put on this earth for us to see. And just to
kind of get away. I've
been blessed to have the opportunity to do that so I'm
taking full advantage. I like to play video
games, Halo,
Xbox.
I like to watch movies and
TV shows when I have time."
Turn-ons: "When
everybody around me is happy, when there's no worries about
money, just living in the moment. If we're all at a good
dinner and everybody's enjoying themselves, just a group of
people having a good time."
Turn-offs: "People with bad attitudes, who
judge
and compare.
When they're doing that, I think that's my biggest turn
off."
Special Talents: "I speak a little Koran and a little
Portuguese. I guess that could be a talent. I try to sing on
that video game Rock
Band."
Charities: "Shop with a Jock. I took about 50 kids
and gave
them backpacks
and T-shirts and $100 so
they could just shop for whatever they wanted
for themselves. They're less privileged. Most kids don't get
the opportunity to shop, they don't have money, their
parents don't have money or they came from a battered
family, alcohol, drugs. So it gives them an opportunity to
go out there and experience what other
kids
love to do on Christmas.
It
was just an opportunity for kids to venture out and meet the
athletes and also get a toy or
video game
that they always wanted. A lot athletes in the league do
that."
Travels: South America, Puerto Rico, Bahamas. I definitely
want to try to go
to Europe this year. I've been to hi, Brazil, Rio de
Janeiro. I've been to Korea before. Never to Africa."
Spirituality: "I'm Christian. I'm blessed, if it wasn't
for him, I wouldn't be in this place now. It's hard during
season because we practice on Sundays but we have chapel on
Saturday nights, it's like a mini bible study."
Does being a strong Christian conflict
with your career: "Oh yeah, there's lust everywhere.
It's
hard,
sometimes you got to choose when to go out because you don't
know what's out there. Just surround yourself with good
people. Don't put yourself around trouble. I've been blessed
not to be in trouble or get caught up in stuff that other
people have, you just got to be strong headed."
Fashion sense: "Unique. I
have my
own sense of style. I like to change it up a little bit.
They always say don't wear white after Labor
Day
but I still do it, you know. It all depends on the mood or
how you feel. I can go from a suit jacket to some nice jeans
with some Chuck
Taylors
and wear a hat with it. It all depends what mood I'm
feeling."
Staying healthy: "You are what you eat. That's a very
cliche thing to say but if you
eat fast foods all the time, it's going to catch up to you.
You definitely got to eat the good foods and always a big
glass water. You got to drink a lot of water to stay in
shape and be healthy. I try to stay
away from sugars. Besides
football training, I
do spinning classes, Pilates,
boxing and
stretching."
What touches my soul: "Living
in San Diego,
being around the beach, good weather, good people. The
environment that I'm in just frees your mind. I could be
anywhere around the world but when I come back to San Diego,
it's my safe haven. So
being around the beach and good weather in San Diego, it
doesn't beat that, it makes me feel at peace. I
have a place in Houston too, during the season."
... on WOMEN
I first notice ... "her smile. If she has a good look
about her and a smile. I think a smile goes a long way. It's
just captivating. You
can just tell about the energy she carries. She doesn't
have to say
much, but the smile, you can catch it from a long way."
Attention-getters: "Just be yourself.
Don't try to do things that you
would never do just to try to get my attention. There's so
many
beautiful women, but what's going to stand out
is when you're being yourself.
If we're
having a talk, don't try to be more than what it is. Don't
try to impress me, just be yourself."
Ideal woman: "She definitely has to be open minded. She
has to love Tabasco sauce and spicy foods. Someone who's
outgoing, open minded, very free spirited, spiritual,
understands
Christianity and definitely
is
a family person. Someone who loves
her family and definitely looks
for a family of her own. Those are definitely the traits I
look for in a woman."
I can't resist a woman who ... "has nice legs."
Most important quality in a woman: "A sense of family.
My ideal woman is when you just know that your wife's going
to just hold it down in the family, like if you're at work.
She's got to hold it down, be that mother figure. She's
never going to call you and say I can't deal with this, the
kids are doing that. You got to know that she's going to be
the backbone of the family."
Ideal date: "A
great meal,
good conversation, a nice bottle of wine and just get to
know
each
other's interests
and hobbies. It depends
where we're at, if we're in San Diego, go to the beach or go
somewhere to talk. Just get to know someone on the first
date, that goes a long way."
What makes me call a woman back after a first date:
"You have to follow up to
say, `I
just appreciate the time that we had and we'll talk later.'
Just a good vibe, you just can tell. You know in dates, you
just know, it's like, `man
when are we
gong to do this again, what are you doing later this week?'
It's
just one of those good vibe things, you just can tell."
I'd never date a woman who ... "smokes."
How I show I care: "I'm a hopeless romantic. Leave a
nice little cute note or a rose on the bed."
I wish women understood ... "men are a different
species. We're just different. The
biggest thing for a woman to
do is
she has to be patient. Don't try to change us on the first
night or the second week, if it comes, it comes, if it
doesn't, it's not meant to be."
How are you different than us: "You guys are very
emotional and guys aren't very emotional or as
passionate about things
that women are. Women cry over little things or they take
offense to things that they see and we really don't see. We
overlook things and we're just very hard headed when it
comes to stuff like that."
So should we just accept that you guys just aren't as
emotional: "Well,
I'm not saying accept it but don't try to force it. What
women try to do is force us to be someone real quick
or
very emotional Sometimes
we don't think of
the perfect thing to say, we don't think all the time."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
On relationships: "I'm not really a big relationship
guy. I'm more of a get to know you and see what goes from
there. It's very hard to be in a relationship because
there's no rule books for it, there's no manual saying how
to do it right. If I knew how to be in a relationship, I'd
be married right now, I guess. It's very hard with my
career. You got to be understanding, we're never in one
place, we're here for half the season, back home the other
half, so it's very hard."
Is a relationship important to you: "Definitely, but
it's just so hard to find the right woman to understand your
personality. I think that's why you got to find somebody
who's very open minded."
What I love most about being in a relationship: "Not
being alone at night, just coming home to someone special.
It's not always going out all the time, just laying low on
the weekend, getting into some pjammies, watching some
movies and just hang out and be stupid, that's how a
relationship's supposed to be like, fun and full of laughter
and joy with another."
Top relationship keys: "Communication, understanding
and you got to have a little space. You can't always be
cuddly and you can't be together 24/7 because you're going
to be sick of each other."
What kind of boyfriend are you: "Oh man, I'm a great
boyfriend. Because when I'm in a relationship, it's all
about her. That's why its hard for me to be in a
relationship because I know when I give my all, I give my
all and I try to do the best I can. I'm not saying it's
always perfect, but I try."
What I expect: "Just to grow and understand each other.
And understand that it's not a sprint, it's a marathon. It
all should be consistent - the
whole marathon, keep your pace. There's
gong to be ups and downs in a relationship. I just want you
to be the same throughout the whole thing. If we're
together, we finish the race together,
if
not, I got to call it quits."
Have you been in love before: "Oh yeah, who
hasn't?"
When I'm in love, ... "I
can't see myself
without that person every night, every breath, every second
.... "
What makes me feel close to a woman: "Things we've been
through, the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations.
Where
someone knows you more than someone else."
What makes a woman marriage material: "When you find
out, tell me because I don't know. I guess you just know
when you know, that's what some people say."
... on SEX
What makes sex good: "When you have a good
connection."
Most sensual part of a woman's body: "Her butt, her
legs."
Sexiest thing a woman can wear in private: "Nothing,
just
heels."
Surefire way to seduce me: "Seduce me, huh? That's a
good one. I don't know. Does
this have to be PG13? Just
wear a sexy lingerie outfit."
... on LIFE
Making my mark: "Just living day to day.
Just
being African American and Korean in the NFL
and to
tell my story. I think I've
left a
mark when people say you can't do it
and
you just overcome that and go against the grain and just do
it. I got that from
my parents, seeing them always just go through the hard
times and understanding that nothing's
ever given to you in life so you just got to go out there
and prove it and do it. Drive
and faith. Faith
is the biggest thing, it rules everything. Just pray, get on
your knees and things can happen if you just put your mind
to it and just pray."
Responsibility to society: "People will say they don't
but you do have a
responsibility because
people see you on TV and in the community.
If
you have a couple drinks,
you never want to step in a car because you never know who
you might be hurting on the streets. You don't know who's
watching so you definitely have to have responsibility in
everything you do."
Valuable life lesson: "Do onto others as
you want done
onto yourself."
I must ... "see as much places I can see in this world,
maybe one day climb the Himalayas and swim with
sharks."
Best advice received: "Thoughts determine what you
want, actions determine what you get."
Best advice I've given a woman: "I don't think I give a
lot of women advice. If someone asks me what I think, I'll
give them my say."
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie: "Top Gun."
TV Show: "Entourage, The Hills."
Music: "I love everything from Jack Johnson, Ben Harpe,
Dan
Dryer, reggae."
Food: "Korean. Bogobe and galbi. It's marinated
beef."
... final THOUGHTS
Wheels: "72 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I fixed it up. Maroon
Mercedes."
Always in my refrigerator: "Bottle of tequila, that's
about it."
Hottest possession: "My California King bed.
I
love to sleep."
I'd change places for 24 hours with ... "Barack Obama.
Just to see how it feels to be the face of history for 24
hours. Just being up there in front of the world and just to
see how it feels to be a president for 24 hours especially
in his shoes, what we went through in this country."
I'd most like to hang out with ... "Oprah. because
she's the most powerful woman right now, I think. Go fly her
private jets and go somewhere."
Anything you would ask her: "If I could hold some of
her money."
You make good money: "But do you know what she
makes."
Celeb I'd love to take on a date: "Eva Mendez. Everyone
has one celebrity crush, and I think she's mine."
Me in two
words:
"Outgoing. Funny."
