... on HIMSELF
Best qualities: "My integrity, humor and loyalty. I'm a good friend. I
look after my mates and I always stick by them."
Weaknesses: "Impatience, thrill-seeking, women. I'm a bit of an
adrenaline junkie."
Others may not see: "I'm a world class chef. At least I like to think I
am. I do enjoy cooking. I'd like to be better than I am. I wish I had more
time to put into it. My specialty is Chicken Parmesan. I can cook a mean
roast. Any kind of Thai or Asian food. I like to cook for girlfriends."
I've been known to ... "shed a tear with my mates. I have a very big
group of friends, we've all been best mates since we've been 10 years old.
We've done everything together, we've traveled around the world together. We
care about each other and all look after each other."
Interests: "Surfing, reading, travel, cooking."
Turn-ons: "Women with ambition, intelligence, humor. Adventure,
friends, good times."
Turn-offs: "Arrogance, vanity, conceit, small-mindedness, aggression."
Special Talents: "Surfing/Surf Rescue, Problem solving."
What I love most about being a lifeguard: "The lifestyle and the good
guys I work with. But one of the main things is the fact that you're helping
people."
Biggest misconception about being a lifeguard: "People think we've got
a really laid job and we just lie on the beach all day. Not everyone can be
here every time we're doing a rescue, so they don't see a lot of the stuff
we do. But if you've met anyone who has seen us save a life, they'll praise
us all day long. They know how good we are at our job and they're going to
feel comfortable coming to this beach because we can save them."
Charities: "Former President of Tamarama board riders club, Tamarama surf life
saving club. We go to the Children's Hospital and give out Easter eggs
at Easter to all the other kids."
Travels: "I've been around the world once through America, Asia, Canada,
Western Europe, Northern and southern Africa, Maldives, extensive
travels within Indonesia. Lived in Spain for a year."
Fashion sense: "Superb. Or at least I think so. I do care about what I
wear and how I look, but I'm not over the top. I'm not a metrosexual."
Staying healthy: "I eat well, get plenty of activity and enjoy
life."
What touches my soul: "The ocean, a summer sunrise over the water. I
love being at the beach early in the morning when the sun's coming out, it
makes you really appreciate life. It's pretty good to be sitting out in the
water by yourself, surfing, and having the sun come out."
... on WOMEN
I first notice ... "her eyes. A girl has to have good eyes or I really
don't feel attracted. That's always something I notice straight away. Some
girls just have that look."
Attention-getters: "A warm smile. But if you really want to get my
attention, it would be great to approach me."
Ideal woman: "She must be funny, outgoing, athletic, honest, loyal and
intelligent."
I can't resist a woman who ... "speaks her mind. I don't want a ditzy
blonde sitting next to me who doesn't want to say anything and who doesn't
have her own opinion. I want someone I can talk to and have a proper
conversation with."
Most important quality in a woman: "Honesty. I just don't think a
relationship works with out it."
Ideal date: "An early evening drink followed by a walk along the beach
and a romantic evening beachside with a nice bottle of Australian
wine."
I'd call a woman back after a first date ... "if it felt right and
comfortable. Basically if we got on and it was a warm and
humorous encounter. I can't stand a girl who doesn't have a sense of
humor."
I would never date a woman who ... "was too conceited."
How I show I care: "I like to give a lot of affection and cuddles and
tell her how much she means to me. I tell everyone how much I love them.
Just ask anyone I work with."
What makes a woman unforgettable: "Her strength of presence, her
confidence and her touch. When you're with a girl who means a lot to you,
their touch is just different."
I wish women understood ... "guys need time with male friends
too."
One thing a woman has never done for me yet: "Whisk me away on a
romantic surprise weekend. I've never had that happen, it'd be nice."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
On relationships: "I'm usually a long term relationship guy. A
relationship is very important in my life. That's your ultimate goal in
life, isn't it, to meet the right person to love and to share your life with
them. I definitely want kids one day."
Top relationship keys: "Honesty, communication, love."
A woman in a relationship with me can expect ... "an honest, reliable
and caring partner. She can expect a good father, a good husband and a
good guy all around. I can cook, I can fix things, so she'll get a useful
partner as well as a loving and caring partner. And I can carry her out of a
burning building or rescue her in the surf."
What I expect: "Honesty, love and an ability to laugh even when I am
not all
that funny."
When I'm in love, I ... "am full of life and possibly a little annoying
to those
around me. I tell everyone around me that I'm in love."
What makes me feel close to a woman: "Knowledge of one another, similar
interests."
Greatest relationship lesson: "Be honest with yourself and your
partner."
What makes a woman marriage material: "Total compatibility. Just
feeling totally at peace with them, knowing that you can say or do anything
and that they're you're soul mate."
... on SEX
What makes sex good: "Chemistry. When it's there, sex is sooo
good."
I feel my sexiest when ... "I have had a good day on the beach and feel
relaxed
and confident."
Most sensual part of a woman's body: "The back part of her neck,
definitely her nape."
Sexiest thing a woman can wear in private: "Sexy yet sophisticated
lingerie. I'm right into those little lacy boy shorts, they're great. Black
or turquoise is nice."
Surefire way to seduce me: "Tempt me with a secluded weekend away of
sun fun and romance."
... on LIFE
Making my mark: "Every time I save a life I believe I'm making a pretty
big mark on the world. It's just an exhilarating feeling. After it's
all happened, you realize that guy's now alive because of what you just did.
If we weren't there, that guy would be dead. You know that there's 50,000
people on the beach down here and they're basically relying on you to look
after them. And at the end of the day, when you have, you've done your job
and you've done it well."
Responsibility to society: "Give back more than I take."
Valuable life lesson: "There is a lot to enjoy so get as much out of it
as you
can."
I must ... "1. Meet the girl I will spend
the rest of my life and have children with, 2. Travel to Africa to meet
the children my friends and I sponsor, 3. Cross Australia East to West,
off-road on motor bikes with two of my good mates. It's quite a
treacherous ride to go off road all the way across Australia 4,000 km."
Best advice received: "Treat others the way you would like to be
treated
yourself."
Best advice I've given a woman: "Have a go, don't be so prissy."
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie: "Starsky and Hutch, Top Gun."
TV Show: "Seinfeld, Mash."
Book: "Lord of the Rings."
Music: "Sublime."
Food: "Italian."
... final THOUGHTS
Always in my refrigerator: "Good bottle of white wine, yogurt and a
block of chocolate."
Hottest possession: "My car, 2005 SS Commodore."
I would change places for 24 hours with ... "Andy Irons, 3 times world
surfing
champion. I'd love to be able to surf like that for a day."
I would most like to hang out with ... "Eric Bana. He's a Hollywood
star but he just seems like a good bloke and he's a very funny bloke."
Celeb I'd love to take on a date: "Megan Gale (Australian model)
because she is drop dead gorgeous, lives down the road from me and
enjoys my beach as much as I do and she seems like a lovely girl. I
like Charlise Theron. She's nice and strikingly beautiful."
Why I'm such a great catch: "Because I'm an honest, loyal outgoing guy
who knows how to have fun and does not take life TOO seriously."
Me in a word: "Loveable."
