Education: Bachelor's Degree. Started off doing a law degree but ended up completing a Health degree (Health Service Management and Health Promotion).
Occupation: Actor on popular Australian Soap, Neighbours seen in over 50 countries by over 120 million people per night.
I play Ned Parker, a country boy from Oakey in Queensland who is a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none.
Reality Star:: I was on Australian Idol in 2004 (the second season in Australia). It was an incredible experience that really got me to where I am today.
My singing background was all gospel. I grew up in church and started singing in church from the age of 16. I had never properly gigged outside of church before going on Idol so it was a very surreal experience to suddenly be thrust on to the national stage.
... on HIMSELF
Strengths: "Genuine and laid back. I never take things too seriously and always like humour."
Weaknesses: "Chocolate (haha) and being disorganized. I really love Belgian chocolate and chocolate with cashews in it. Also caramel fudge is great ... in fact anything sweet!!"
Others may not see: "That I have a sensitive side that really cares about others. I will always go to bat for the underdog."
I've been known to ... "be very random and do things very spontaneously."
Interests: "Sport (tennis, beach volleyball, swimming, snow boarding), singing and performing."
Turn-ons: "Independent, confident women. Also good food. I really love food so give me some good tucker and I am yours. ha ha."
Turn-offs: "Pretentious behaviour, parking inspectors, bad drivers and traffic. Other turnoffs would be offensive language ... I think it shows a lack of vocabulary."
Special Talents: "Singing."
Titles: "One of the finalists in CLEO magazine's 2005 Bachelor of the year, final 12 of Australian Idol 2004, nominated for a Logie Award
in 2006 for Most Popular New Talent (equivalent to the Golden Globes)."
Charities: "CBMI (Christian Blind Mission International, Starlight Children's Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation."
15 minutes of fame: "On Australian Idol back in 2004 which is why I am now an actor on Australia's most successful show and am having an absolute ball."
Travels: "USA (Washington, DC, New York and LA), Malaysia, United Kingdom and France."
Spirituality: "Pentecostal (practicing). I believe in heaven and hell."
Fashion sense: "Edgy with a bit of quirk. I like good quality clothes but I really like unique looking things. I like to try things that are a bit of a risk."
Staying healthy: "I go to the gym quite regularly and am involved in playing different team sports. My diet needs a little work though because I love my food."
What touches my soul: "Seeing stories of overcoming adversity."
... on WOMEN
I first notice ... "a woman's smile. It tells you so much about what sort of person they are."
Attention-getters: "Come up and talk to me ... it really isn't that hard to communicate."
Ideal woman: "Someone who has goals and direction in life. My ideal woman needs to be relaxed but also ambitious, independent, spontaneous, a bit naughty, love traveling, and never afraid to take on challenges."
I can't resist a woman who ... "knows what they want and won't stop until they get it. They are relentless in the pursuit."
Most important quality in a woman: "Just being real and genuine."
Ideal date: "Someone who loves to have lots of laughs, loves spontaneity and good food. Someone who loves being a little crazy. A beautiful dinner followed by a leisurely stroll by the beach on a warm summer night with lots of kissing!!!"
I'd call a woman back after a first date ... "if the first date was really good because there was a genuine connection and also if the interest is reciprocated."
I'd never date a woman who ... "is too materialistic and pretentious."
How I show I care: "I buy her lots of gifts and hang out with her a lot."
What makes a woman unforgettable: "The first kiss ... there is so much telling in the first kiss. A woman who gives a good first kiss will never be forgotten."
I wish women understood ... "that nagging rarely gets a positive result. We don't mind communication as long as it doesn't cross over to nagging."
One thing a woman has never done for me yet: "I love massages but have yet to receive one from a girlfriend."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
On marriage: "I'm a firm believer in marriage and all that it represents. Marriage and family is very important. I am really looking forward to meeting the girl that one day I will marry. Marriage for me is a lifetime commitment that I believe in wholeheartedly. Family is also really important as I think it makes you who you are. It's all about being a giver and not just a taker. Giving to your wife and giving to your kids when you eventually have them."
What I love most about be in a relationship: "I like being intimate with a girl and being able to buy her gifts. I love the feeling you get when you feel like this is the girl you want to spend the rest of your life with. I love the time I spend with a girl that I have a relationship with."
Top relationship keys: "Communication is absolutely essential. I have never been a great communicator in my past relationships and that is probably the biggest reason for me being single at the moment."
A woman in a relationship with me can expect ... "lots of laughs and good times. I love having fun. Unfortunately I am not a huge romantic. I would like to say that for the right girl that can change but I have not found that girl yet. I like spending a lot of time with the girl I am dating but equally like time apart to hang with friends. I like doing a lot of things like going on little weekend getaways, going to the movies and going to really nice restaurants."
What I expect: "Monogamy. I am a one woman man so I would expect the same in return."
When I'm in love, I ... "am obsessed with calling and texting."
What makes me feel close to a woman: "When we are intimate. Lots of hugs and kisses."
Greatest relationship lesson: "There are always three sides to an argument ... yours, hers and somewhere in between you will find the truth."
What makes a woman marriage material: "If she shares the same values as you."
... on SEX
What makes sex good: "I think love makes sex good."
I feel my sexiest when ... "I have looked after myself and am healthy."
Most sensual part of a woman's body: "Her lips."
Sexiest thing a woman can wear in private: "A smile. haha."
Surefire way to seduce me: "With food ... a way to a man's heart is good quality food!!"
... on LIFE
Making my mark: "To fulfill all that I feel I am destined to do, never overlooking opportunities. I will always give things that are thrown at me a go even if I have never done it before. To use whatever notoriety for positive things like helping out charities."
Valuable life lesson: "That life itself is too short to dwell on futile, insignificant things. ALWAYS live for the moment like it is your last."
I must ... "1) Give a good shot at a music career 2) Have a family 3) Travel to every continent (including Antarctica). At this point in time I am still wanting to pursue music and there are plans in the pipeline for that. The beauty of being on a show like Neighbours is that you can pursue both. There are many people that have come of Neighbours that have gone on to big music and acting careers (Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia, Delta Goodrem, Jesse Spencer, Guy Pearse to name a few ... Russell Crowe also appeared for a few episodes)."
Best advice received: "If at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again (thanks Ayliah)."
Best advice I've given a woman: "Have respect for yourself ... never be a doormat for anyone."
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie: "The Goonies."
TV Show: "The Amazing Race."
Book: "The Da Vinci Code."
Music: "At the moment ... John Legend."
Food: "Anything really."
... final THOUGHTS
Tattoos/piercings: "Nipple piercing from my trip to the States back in 2000. I had it done by a guy in Hollywood who had recently got out of jail for murder (he had been in there for 15 years)."
Always in my refrigerator: "Juice, cheese, leftover pizza from the night before - haha."
Hottest possession: "My iPod. I have just bought it and I love it."
I would change places for 24 hours with ... "our prime minister. I'm sure I could do a better job than him with a lot of his current policies."
I would most like to hang out with ... "Bono from U2. I think Bono is inspirational. Not only because of his music, which has so much meaning, but the great things he does outside his music and the things he stands for. Bono works quite closely with the UN and contributes a great deal to charitable organization not just with his money but with his time and energy."
Celeb I'd love to take on a date: "Keira Knightly because I think she is absolutely gorgeous (and because of her intelligence haha)."
Why I'm such a great catch: "Because I will always give you a good time. I think life sometimes can be too serious ... I love life."
Me in a word: "Happy."
