Family: Younger sister,
parents
still together. Great family. I'm big
on
family. Family means everything to me.
Ethnicity: German/Scandinavian/Italian
Status: Never married, no children
Nonsmoker
Occupation: Professional baseball player
/
Reality
TV star.
What
is it like going from
being
a professional baseball player to now a reality star on a
very successful show:
"It's
a completely different lifestyle. My life has changed
drastically in a year. Just everything that's happened. Just
being part of entertainment instead of athletics, it's a lot
different. It's entertaining, it's fun, it's a good
experience.
On being a reality star:
"It's
fun just to one day show my future kids,
`hey
this is what I was a part of back when I was younger.'
It's fun and it's something to look back on.
It's
not going to last forever and that's why I have my education
and my degree and hopefully I get to go back to baseball.
It's
just a fun experience and it's something I do with my
friends. You
get
to do
a lot of fun things that people don't get to do usually.
I
just like to have fun. I'm a happy guy. I'm just having fun
with the whole thing. I'm not taking myself seriously and
whatever happens, happens. I'm not trying to be someone I'm
not."
... on
HIMSELF
Strengths: "I’m loyal, generous and funny.
I'm
just a down-to-earth, happy go lucky guy. I like to have
fun. I'm always laughing
and
I like to please everybody."
Weaknesses: "Sometimes I can be too generous and too
trusting. I’m also not very confrontational - I don’t
know if that’s a strength or a weakness.
Sometimes
people take advantage of that. Men, women, anybody. I think
I'm just naturally that way, I'm a naturally giving person,
a happy person, I want everyone to be happy, have fun.
Because when everyone's having fun, that's when I have
fun."
"Id say it's a little bit of both. Being non
confrontational, it keeps you out of a lot of fights but yet
when you're non confrontational and you need to stick up for
yourself, I think, that's when it becomes a negative for
me."
Others may not see: "That I’m not that `guy' and that
I’m actually really hard working."
Biggest misconceptions about you: "That I've come from
a wealthy family and I've never worked for anything in my
life. I've been playing baseball professionally since I've
been 18 yrs old. I've rode on 14 hour
bus rides,
slept on floors of buses,
had one day off a month for 7 months, traveled to different
cities and slept at terrible hotels. People don't know that
about me.
They
just see this glamorous lifestyle they see on The Hills and
they don't know that I've worked hard to get there. I've
created a lot of opportunities for myself through hard work
and good habits."
Are there misconceptions about professional athletes that
you get lumped into as well: "I wouldn't say that. I
think most professional athletes who
get
where they've gotten have had to work hard and have good
work ethics and for the most part are successful people. I'm
sure a good looking athlete,
people
say,
`oh,
yeah, he's a player, he's a womanizer'
and maybe sometimes I get lumped into that but when you meet
the right girl and you really connect with someone, it kind
of slows you down a little bit."
I've been known to ... "do pranks on my friends. I'm
always joking around and doing something funny, writing on
someone when they're sleeping, pouring water on someone when
they least expect it. Just something funny to get people
laughing and having a good time."
Interests: "Sports, politics and spending time with my
family and friends."
Turn-ons: "A sense of humor.
Being
happy, having a family.
Whatever
you do, if it's a doctor, lawyer, writer, musician, baseball
player,
if
whatever
you choose to do in your life
makes
you happy, that's a turn on. I think family and friends and
good people surrounding you is a turn on. So hard work,
dedication and being around good people."
Turn-offs: "Clingy girls. I hate when someone calls you
and leaves you a message, you call them right back and they
don't answer their phone."
Special Talents: "I’m really good at water sports.
Like scuba diving, surfing, fishing, free diving. I'm
a big outdoors and water guy. I grew up on the beach so I
love the water. I cannot sing, dance, write or do poetry to
save my life. God has not blessed me in that way."
Awards: "I was 8th pick in the draft for the Anaheim
Angels right out of high
school,
so I guess I have been MVP a few times. In high school, I
was league MVP, All American.
I had a lot of honors in high school and being drafted the
way I was."
Charities: "My sister Casey has a charity called the
C.A.S.E.Y foundation. She started it but I like to work with
her and help out as much as I can. It’s an awesome
charity that works with kids to help promote the value of
education.
I
would go read, throw a ball around, do something fun, play
sports, do anything I can to help out, make them have fun
and just show them that hard work pays off. I've been doing
that since high school. My family's very big into
philanthropy. More
information at www.caseyreinhardt.com."
15 minutes of fame: "Playing baseball for the Orioles
and the Angels. Also a little show called THE
HILLS."
Travels: "I do like to travel - I LOVE Maui.
I've
been all over the world. I've been
to
Europe many times, Asia, Africa, South America. I've been a
lot of places. My parents took me all over the world when I
was growing up. So I've seen a lot of cool places."
Spirituality: "I was raised Catholic.
I'm
very spiritual, God is a big part of my life. I thank God
every day for all the blessings I have, and my family and my
friends. It's so amazing."
Fashion sense: "I try to dress nice, but don’t spend
too much time on it. I'm a jeans and T-shirt,
Chuck
Taylors,
shorts, flip flops, tank top but I know how to dress when I
need to dress up. I think it's a good balance of both."
Staying healthy: "I work out a lot - doing sprints and
hill runs - and I eat healthy."
What touches my soul: "My mom’s home cooking.
My
mom makes the best spaghetti and meatballs you've ever
tasted."
... on WOMEN
I first notice ... "her sense of humor. A girl needs to
be funny, needs to interact, they need to have something
upstairs, they need to be intelligent. She needs to be able
to have a good time, yet when I want to stay in and watch a
movie, they're fine with that as well. I like a girl who's
balanced, intelligent, funny and has her own thing going for
her. There's a million girls out there who are beautiful but
I like to get to know a person, see what they're like inside
before really, really pursuing something with them. I'm not
all about looks, I think that's kind of shallow."
Attention-getters: "Confident, elegant and classy,
That's the way they would catch my eye."
Ideal woman: "Hardworking, caring, understanding.
With
my lifestyle, they need to be very understanding. And treat
me the way I treat them and everything will be great."
I can't resist a woman who ... "treats me well. That's
very important to me. Life is all about what you put into it
is what you're going to get out of it and I believe the same
in a relationship. What you put in is what you're going to
get out."
Most important quality in a woman: "A sense of humor. I
love to laugh. I'm the guy who laughs at everything and
anything. I'm
always laughing, always having a good time and I love
someone who makes me laugh. I can sit for hours and
laugh."
Ideal date: "Romantic dinner by the ocean with someone
you love."
I'd call a woman back after a first date ..: "if I had
a good time, if I was interested. I don't really play the
... you got to wait two or three days. If I like a girl, I'm
going to call her right away and say, `hey I really enjoyed
spending time with you and let's get together as soon as we
can.' Just if we have a spark connection, she made me laugh
and we had a good conversation, I think that's the most
important thing."
I'd never date a woman who ... "didn't get along with
my family. I'd never date a girl seriously, my mom has to
approve and my sister has to approve because if my mom and
sister don't approve, it's only going to be hell for me, so
I want to make sure they approve and everything will be good
from them."
How I show I care: "I spoil her rotten with love and
gifts.
I'm
a hopeless romantic, yeah, I am. Most people don't know that
about me, I'm very romantic."
Most romantic thing you've done: "I cooked dinner for a
girlfriend for Valentine's Day. I got a bunch of flowers,
balloons and chocolates, got her a cool gift and cooked her
dinner, so that was pretty cool."
Are you a good cook: "I'm not but I tried my best and I
guess it's the thought that counts. I made Chicken
Parmigiana and it didn't turn out too good but I
tried."
What makes a woman unforgettable: "Just the way they
hold themselves. Their confidence, if they're classy, some
girls just have this extra sparkle that just lights up a
room, and those are the ones that are just very confident in
themselves and stand above the rest."
I wish women understood ... "Let the guy come after
you, don't be so aggressive. If the guy's into you, he'll
make sure you know that he's into you. Men like the chase,
they like to pursue. I know for me, if a girl's all over me,
it's not as exciting for me. I'd rather have a chase. I want
to romance a girl a little bit, show her I really enjoy
being around her and care for her, and just treat her like a
queen."
One thing a woman has never done for me yet, but I would
love it: "Ooh, that's a good question. I've never had a
surprise birthday party thrown for me, I've always wanted
that."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
On relationship/marriage: "I'm still a little
young now but in the next couple years, I'm kind of looking
around. I've seen the world, I've been around, I've dated a
few women and I know what I like and I know what I don't
like. And when I meet that girl who really does it for me, I
have no problem settling down and I'd love to start a family
and get married."
Is a relationship important to you: "Relationships are
very important to me.
It's
fun spending time with someone
who
you
really enjoy and care about.
There's just something special about someone who connects
with you and you get to have fun with and laugh and do fun
things with. I think that's really cool."
What I love most about being in a relationship: "I love
being able to wake up next to someone everyday, and just
having them with me."
Top relationship keys: "Laughter, honesty, loyalty and
fun."
A woman in a relationship with me can expect ... "all
the boys coming by watching sports and just stopping by,
hanging out. My house is kind of like a frat house.
Everyone's always stopping by, hanging out. So she better
like my friends or it's not going to fly."
What kind of boyfriend are you: "Lot of fun. She's
going to get spoiled, she's going to get treated like a
queen, just a lot of fun, a lot of laughter, a good
time."
What I expect: "I just expect a girl to treat me the
same way I treat them. I treat a girl I really care about
great, so if she treats me like I treat her, everything's
going to be great."
When I'm in love, I ... "don't look at anybody else but
her."
What makes me feel close to a woman: "Being your
girlfriend’s best friend." I believe that if you're
in a serious relationship, they're your best friend and they
know everything about you, and you should know everything
about her.
I
believe that being as close as you can to someone, they need
to know everything about you.
Yeah,
they're your best friend, and lover but I think first and
foremost, you guys have to get along and there has to be a
mutual respect for each other. If you have that, the sky's
the limit."
Greatest relationship lesson: "Don’t ever let anyone
change who you are because you won’t need to change for
the right person."
What makes a woman marriage material: "A girl who's
marriage material lets me do my own thing and is trustworthy
and trusts me like I trust them. They have their own career,
they're not using me for ulterior motives. money, fame,
whatever it is, but that they love me for me and we have a
great time together."
... on SEX
What makes sex good: "When you’re really in love and
it’s really special every time, and waiting for the right
moment."
I feel my sexiest when ... "I have my shirt off."
Most sensual part of a woman's body: "Her smile.
There's
just something about a girl's smile that really makes me
happy. When I look at their smile and I truthfully know
they're smiling and they're having a great time. It's just a
good feeling to have, it just makes me know that they're
happy. When they're happy, I'm happy."
Sexiest thing a woman can wear in private:
"Nothing."
Surefire way to seduce me: "Look at me in my eyes
when she talks to me."
... on LIFE
Making my mark: "By giving back to others, and treating
them with kindness & respect because God's blessed me
and given me a fortunate life and I've accomplished and
experienced so much at such a young age, that I think that
you got to give back, in any way possible."
Responsibility to society: "To make people laugh."
Valuable life lesson: "Everything happens for a reason.
When you least expect it, something it will happen. Just
getting hurt last year and having knee surgery and moving
back to LA and all this stuff happened, just being on the
show and being on TV and living this whole lifestyle. It
never would have happened if I didn't get hurt so I believe
everything happened for a reason."
I must ... "get married, have kids, and just be
happy."
Best advice received: "What you put into something is
what you get out of it."
Best advice I've given a woman: "That guy’s a loser -
get rid of him!"
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie: "All the Rocky movies."
TV Show: "Two and Half Men."
Music: "Sublime and music like that."
Food: "Sushi."
... final THOUGHTS
Wheels: "Hybrid Escalator and silver Aston
Martin."
Pets: "An English bulldog named Gertrude."
Always in my refrigerator: "Beer, water and
protein shakes."
Hottest possession: "My baseball glove."
I'd change places for 24 hours with … "JFK for sure!
But only him, I love my life to much to change with other
people! A young president and had a good looking family. He
was a good role model and he changed our country forever. He
was a cool guy."
I'd most like to hang out with ... "Joe DiMaggio. He
was a Yankee baseball player, dated good looking girls. I
find him kind of a cool guy.
Celeb I'd love to take on a date: "Marilyn Monroe. She
was an icon, she really opened the door for girls to show
their femininity."
Why I'm a great catch: "I treat women with
respect."
Me in a word: "Kind."
