"The ultimate destiny for any man and woman is a relationship that
blossoms into marriage," says 48-year-old Glenn. "I'm very
old-fashioned that way and I pray that one day it happens for me." This
5'10" Canadian singer/songwriter/real estate agent, is just happy to be
alive and healthy right now. In 1981, while attending premed school, Glenn
was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Refusing surgery, Glenn was determined
to heal himself. After 15 years of research and self testing, he cured
himself and created the video, The Brand New You! to help others;
vowing if he ever found a way that worked for him, he would share it with
the world. "I felt If one person could benefit from what I've
done," says Glenn, "then it would all be worthwhile." After
his successful struggle with his disease, Glenn began competing in track and
field. To date, he has won 60 medals, most of them gold, and has been
ranked #6 in the world for his age group. He also holds The National Natural
Mr. Fitness Championship Title for 1998.
... the FACTS
Born: Toronto, Canada
Resides: Missassauga, Ontario, Canada
Birthdate: 4-5-59
Sign: Aries
Height: 5'10"
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Brown (with Hazel mixed in)
Nationality: Canadian (Italian, Hungarian, Ukrainian)
Family: Two younger brothers
Status: Never Married, No children
Education: Went to Premed school - London, Ontario
History: When Glenn's 6-year-old brother was diagnosed with an inoperable
brain tumor, he decided he wanted to become a brain surgeon. Two years later
he was forced to leave his education and deal with his little brother's
death and his own life-threatening illness - Crohn's disease and Ulcerative
Colitis. It was 1981 and doctor's didn't give him much hope either. "I
didn't think I'd live past the age of 25. It's so lonely when you have a
disease people don't understand. I felt completely powerless. Dating was
impossible and my social life was nonexistent."
Glenn refused to give in to the disease and even refused surgery. He was
determined to heal himself. "I studied all the tapes, videos, books and
theories from around the world - whatever I could get my hands on. With the
help of some doctor friends, I used myself as a guinea pig. Finally I
understood that I needed to get back to basics. Improper digestion was using
all of my body's energy. I thought if I could reduce the energy I was
wasting on improperly digested meals, then my body's own natural healing
power would be released."
Glenn devised a healthy eating plan, using natural foods to clear the
symptoms of his disease. "I believe it is not so much what people eat,
but how they eat. I explain everything with some easy-to-do, at home, body
sculpting. The only reason that I did the video was because the doctors in
the hospitals up here told me to get it done on video so that the younger
kids who are getting these intestinal problems would have someone to look up
to and some inspiration to realize that they could live past 20 because I
certainly didn't think I'd live past 30. There's a right way to eat. It's
nothing special. It's getting back to what our ancestors did. The world has
gone backwards in what they're doing."
Occupation:
Singer/Songwriter/Real Estate Agent in a family owned company/World ranked
Track Athlete. "I was writing songs since I was 5. I had 2 record deals
and 3 publishing deals. I do R & B ballads. I had the number 1 song here
in Canada and top 40 in the states with a song called Boomerang."
... on HIMSELF
Glenn is a man who ... "tries to touch everyone each day in a special
way."
Best Qualities: "I'm easy to get to know because I make a person feel
relaxed and comfortable no matter what happens."
Strengths: "Although I'm very goal oriented, I'm always looking for the
funny things in life that will keep me and those around me laughing."
Weakness: "I pack too much into one day and sometimes I don't get
enough sleep - especially if I'm working on a new song - I can lose track of
time."
Others may not see: "Others can see everything about me because I am,
maybe, too open with people but the fact is ... I'm shy."
Interests: "All sports as long as I'm participating. All music. All
movies. All sunsets. All sunrises."
Turn Ons: "A smile; a gentle touch; being and staying healthy. I used
to think it was hearing my songs on the radio, and at first it was, getting
gold and platinum records, it's like `wow you're getting money for your
stuff,' that's nice, but you grow out of that and that's materialistic. What
really touches me now is that I get letters, a lot of them, and emails from
people who've seen the video and had no where to turn. The testimonies that
I get and I've got, are unreal. They make you start bawling almost, that's
what turns me on."
Turn Offs: "A frown; negativity; lack of kindness. So many people are
robotic, all they see is what's in front of them now. It's a turn off when
people don't see the little things in life and it's too bad people have to
have a life-threatening thing happen in order for them to see things people
don't see."
Special Talents: "Making people feel special. There's something special
in every person. My best talent would be my love songs. I write
romantically."
Charities: "I have few that are close to my heart. Sick Kid's Hospital
in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and all Colitis Foundations. I'd like to make as
many wishes come true as I can."
What touches my soul: "Love and compassion in a world that can be cold
sometimes."
... on WOMEN
Attention Getters: "Eye contact and, of course, the flash of her
smile."
Ideal woman: "Happy, healthy, athletic, down-to-earth, easygoing
nature."
Ideal date: "Harley up the coast to a little villa restaurant and watch
the sunset sizzle."
What makes a woman unforgettable: "Her kiss; the taste of her lips and
her smile."
I wish women understood ... "Quote: That there is so much good in the
worst of us and so much bad in the best of us that it's never clever for any
of us to criticize the rest of us."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
Views on relationships/marriage: "As much as I don't let it be known to
the people who I know, I think it's the rounding off of the fulfillment of
life. I feel so lost when I'm single. But I don't want to go into it
half-assed. And a lot of people, I think, do. I love to share the many crazy
and happy experiences I have each day with someone so that when I look into
her eyes, I relive the happiness. I'm prepared, financially and everything,
but to find that person who's going to be forever... I think it can all
happen with one person. I think it is possible. Damn it, my songs all say
so. So I have to live what I preach. The ultimate destiny for any man and
woman is a relationship that blossoms into marriage. I'm very old-fashioned
that way and I pray that one day it happens for me. Kids, these days, have
to have real morals and a healthy family and that can only happen with two
parents who have an everlasting love bond together. So that their kids can
pass on the same life to their kids and so on ... That's how you change the
world into a wonderful place to live."
Top Relationship Keys: "Humor, communication, respect and almost a
spiritual "oneness" when with each other."
A woman in a relationship with me can expect ... "the unexpected. A
life that is always changing and evolving into something new and refreshing
with each day."
What I expect: "That the woman just be herself and hold on tight."
Greatest Relationship Lesson: "To never take it for granted. Always
cherish every moment cause you never know if those eyes you fall so deeply
into will be there tomorrow."
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie: "I love almost every movie from classics like 'Some Like It Hot'
to all the old black and white gems - although I've always loved the 'Wizard
of Oz.' I've still got a soft spot for all romantic musicals, especially
those movies that try to make me cry - ya,that's right, dramatic chick
flicks!"
TV Show: "The Wild, Wild West back in the seventies to Sienfeld."
Book: "Max Brand Westerns - stories of the Old West."
Food: "Rice Krispie Squares, Belgium dark chocolate, Ice cream."
Season: "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, in that order."
... on LIFE
Making My Mark: "To help more people learn about the power of good
digestion with my health video and to touch their emotions with my love
songs."
Responsibility to Society: "To give what talents and lessons you have
acquired over the years in order to somehow, even in a small way, make the
world a little bit brighter. When I started feeling better, a lot of people
said, `look it's working for you, don't put yourself through the time and
money to do the video. It cost me a lot of money to do this video and it's
still costing me a lot of money. The money I make from the video, when and
if I do, goes to preparing more videos which I give free to the hospitals.
For me, that's my responsibility to society. If you found something that
works that's good for you and it could help other people, it's your
responsibility to take the time and money to get it out there, whether it's
a book or video. The same thing with music, if you've got something that
touches people, then it's your responsibility. These are things that I think
are important."
Valuable Life Lesson: "Be kind, friendly and cheerful and keep in mind
that nature puts her curse on all wrongdoing."
What I try to get out of life every day: "Obviously as much as
possible. By trying to make each day a step to becoming a better, stronger
and faster super hero so I can beat the hell out of that Spiderman
guy."
I must ... "get married, get more people in touch with health and get
another hit song under my belt."
Best advice I've received: "Kindness is a language the blind can see
and the deaf can hear."
Best advice I've given a woman: "Follow your heart but trust your
gut."
... final THOUGHTS
Wheels: "2000 Ferrari-Red Corvette Convertible and a Custom Harley Soft
Tail."
Pets: "All animals - no matter how tame or wild. We back into a forest
so there's lots of wild life behind my house to play with. There are deer,
rabbits, foxes and bunnies ... and snakes"
Always in my refrigerator: "Vegetables, fruit juice, organic
meat."
Hottest possession: "Oven. My wild imagination, baby!!"
Secret fantasy: "To find the girl of my dreams to complete my
life."
Me, a deserted island and ... "a seadoo (jetski) so I can rescue my
woman and get back to civilization."
A character in a novel or film who best describes me: "Probably a mix
of Robin Williams, Tom Green, Fabio and Rod Stewart. But I love to play the
dangerous villain - the bad guy - which, of course, is my total
opposite."
I'd change places for 24 hours with ... "Elvis - oh, oh, what did I do?
He's dead, isn't he?"
What makes me a great catch: "is that after you reel me into your boat
- and I stop wiggling - I will treat you so sweetly and there will be
nothing you will ever want."
Me in a word: "Crazy!!"
Last Words: "Prison has really changed me - hey I'm just kidding - no
really!"
