... on HIMSELF
Strengths: "I have been told that my best qualities are: patience, wittiness, sincerity and my ability to compromise."
Weakness: "Sometimes I wear my heart on my sleeve, which I have been told isn't always a bad thing."
Others may not see: "I think I have a lot of potential if put to the challenge."
I've been known to ... "sing out loud and dance in the car. Sometimes you have to let your inner child out and not be ashamed to have someone staring at you at a stop light. It may give them the only chuckle they have had all day."
Interests: "Movies, live music, reading and Waxing philosophy on the state of the world, the environment and politics. I like to stay up-to-date on local and global current events; it allows me to feel connected to the world around me."
Turn-ons: "The smell of a woman's perfume; a knowing smile; a wanting glance; a subtle caress."
Turn-offs: "Rudeness; inconsiderate people; people with short tempers; littering."
Special Talents: "I have been told that I have a very good memory when it comes to knowledge about movies. Not so good for day to day activities, but can come in handy during games of Trivial Pursuit. And that I am a reasonably good dancer."
Titles: "32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason."
Charities: "As a Mason, our organization performs charitable events throughout the year from food drives to providing scholarships to outstanding high school students."
15 minutes of fame: "I was part of a sketch comedy group that aired on The University of Texas at Austin channel. We only filmed about two episodes until there were creative disagreements between the director and some of the cast."
Travels: "Unfortunately, I haven't traveled outside of the U.S. due to time and financial constraints during my education. So, traveling abroad is definitely one of my goals and something that I hope becomes an annual thing."
Spirituality: "Although I don't subscribe to any one religion, I do believe in a higher power and the philosophy that you should be good to each other, the environment and yourself. I enjoy learning about other religions and their dogmas; religion plays such a key role in what goes on in the world and why people do what they do, I feel it is important to understand them."
Fashion sense: "I would say that I dress rather trendy. I am not always wearing the latest styles, but I think I look good."
Staying healthy: "I am developing a new type of workout called Broga™. It is a combination of yoga and break dancing. It will revolutionize the way people work out – urban and suburban."
What touches my soul: "Witnessing unselfish acts of kindness touches my soul."
... on WOMEN
I first notice ... "Although this will sound like a cliché, the first thing I notice about a woman are her eyes. I find it fascinating how so many emotions can be expressed through the eyes; if you can read someone's eyes, you can almost read their mind."
Attention-getters: "A woman can get my attention by simply smiling and engaging me in conversation. So many people are completely wrapped up with their own lives that they are unconcerned with meeting other people or the subtle art of small talk."
I can't resist a woman who ... "has a wicked sense of humor and an insatiable thirst for knowledge."
Most important quality in a woman: "I believe that humility is a very important quality. I am attracted to funny and intelligent women, but if they always talk about their achievements or how important they are it can be a turnoff."
Ideal date: "Enjoying a nice dinner and a bottle of wine, then perhaps some dancing. Finally, talking until the early hours of the morning; but feeling like no time has passed at all and not wanting the evening to end."
I'd call a woman back after a first date ... "First of all, if we had a good time on the date and connected. That is, the conversation flowed smoothly and we enjoyed each other's company. Then, if I found her intriguing and want to get to know her better, I would call her back."
I'd never date a woman who ... "wanted to know how much money I made before deciding if she could go on a date with me."
How I show I care: "I show a woman I care about her by listening and remembering the little things she says. Such as picking up on the subtle things, like her mentioning her favorite movie and then getting it for her if she doesn't have it. I also like to buy her little gifts, nothing extravagant, just little things to let her know that I was thinking about her."
What makes a woman unforgettable: "If she can make me laugh. A sense of humor indicates intelligence and creativity – two characteristics which are essential for getting by in life. Also, it shows that she doesn't take herself too seriously and can laugh at her own mistakes or shortcomings."
I wish women understood ... "sometimes it is hard for us to communicate our thoughts and feelings, because we don't feel like they are always that important."
One thing a woman has never done for me: "Teach me to cook for you."
... on RELATIONSHIPS
On relationships/marriage: "When it is right, it is right. A relationship is important to me, but with the right woman. I do not have to be in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship. But, when you know you want to be in a relationship with that special someone, you just know. Once the relationship is established, then the intimacy can begin: the sharing of ideas, hopes, dreams, fears and faults. However, in order for a relationship to survive and have a chance, walls must be let down. Sometimes, it is hard to let down the walls, especially when you have been hurt in the past, but if you don't let down the walls, you can't truly open yourself to the happiness that can come from the relationship."
What I love most about being in a relationship: "What I love most about a good relationship is the `us against the world' mentality. The idea that we are in this together; we are one another's rock and safe harbor and confidante."
Top relationship keys: "Communication, mutual respect and a creative sex life."
A woman in a relationship with me can expect ... "to be a priority in my life."
What I expect: "To be a priority in her life and not an afterthought."
When I'm in love, I ... "think of her when I first wake up in the morning and right before I fall asleep. She is the most important thing in my life."
What makes me feel close to a woman: "I feel close to a woman when feels that she can tell me anything without fear of being judged or criticized."
Greatest relationship lesson: "Relationships can be fleeting, even the really good ones. Enjoy the relationship and the person while you are together and never take either of them for granted."
What makes a woman marriage material: "There isn't one answer to this question and it would basically depend on the woman. She would have to have certain qualities that would make me suspect that she would be a great life partner and an outstanding mother, should we decide to have children."
.. on SEX
What makes sex good: "Good sex occurs when you and your lover are both selfish and unselfish at the same time. That is, you are not afraid to express what you want from your lover and they, in kind, express what they want from you."
I feel my sexiest when ... "I know I have satisfied my lover."
Most sensual part of a woman's body: "Her inner thigh."
Sexiest thing a woman can wear in private: "Inhibition."
Surefire way to seduce me: "A passionate kiss when you can tell that she is not thinking of anything else but being in the moment with you."
... on LIFE
Making my mark: "Have a positive effect on those who I know and love."
Responsibility to society: "Leave this world a little better than when you came into it. I am also a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists
(www.ucsusa.org)."
Valuable life lesson: "You can do almost anything if you set your mind to it and persevere."
I must ... "tour Scotland, England and Rome."
Best advice received: "Tell her how you feel about her and never regret that you did."
Best advice I've given a woman: "Don't stay with someone just because you are afraid of hurting their feelings, we have all had our feelings hurt. It would be worse to stay and resent them."
... on HIS FAVORITE THINGS
Movie(s): "Casablanca, The Royal Tenenbaums."
TV Show(s): "Grey's Anatomy, Family Guy."
Book: "Anything written by Hunter S. Thompson."
Music: "I like pretty much all styles of music from Classic Rock to Folk to Alternative. The only music I don't actively listen to is New Country, although I do enjoy it while two-stepping. I do like Old Country (aka Outlaw Country). I have a Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson CD – I am from Texas, after all."
Food: "My favorite type of food is seafood (this includes sushi)."
... final THOUGHTS
Wheels: "2006 Honda Civic – That's how I roll."
Always in my refrigerator: "A bottle of Chardonnay."
Hottest (Cherished) possession: "My father's senior ring from The University of Texas at Austin."
I would change places for 24 hours with ... "George W. Bush. I want to get a behind the scenes look at what it means to be the President of the United States and truly understand how much of an active role this or any American president has on dictating policy and deciding what can be kept from the American public to protect our national security."
I would most like to hang out with ... "Johnny Depp. I know it seems silly, but I have a lot of respect for the man because he could have easily gone the way of the heart throb; but, instead, decided to take on challenging and unconventional roles as an actor. Plus, he was good friends with Hunter S. Thompson and I would like to glean his knowledge on one of my favorite writers."
Celebrity I'd love to take on a date: "Parker Posey. I have really enjoyed her acting roles, from The House of Yes to Waiting for Guffman, Best In Show and The Mighty Wind. She has had quite a long and unusual acting career, I would like to hear why she chose the roles she did and what it was like working with Christopher Guest and Michael McKean (original members of Spinal Tap). Plus, she is so darn cute."
Why I'm a great catch: "This is why I have been told I am a great catch: He …"is a very intelligent, attractive and ambitious man with a kind heart. He cares about his family and the environment and he is a spectacular dancer. Jack is very outgoing and is great at making people laugh. He is extremely sweet and romantic and is not afraid to show it."
Me in a word: "Cultivated."
